Acid Decay Questionnaire

Friday 26th March I gave a short presentation to 60+ book, paper and photographic conservators at the ICON Conference 2010, Cardiff. During this presentation, I asked delegates to complete a short questionnaire that was distributed by Nicky Oliver for completion by the end of the days session. Thankfully several did just that, but I still need more questionnaires to be completed for me to gain a better understanding of the conservators understanding of acid decay in binding leathers.

Please click on the thumb nail image below if you would like to take part in this survey. Once you have clicked on the file, it can be downloaded and edited electronically or printed for completion by hand. Forms can be returned by post or email and contact details can be found at the end of the questionnaire. Any problems then email me at karen.vidler@northampton.ac.uk and I will send you the form as a word doc in an email.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Sonja Schwoll of the ICON book, paper and photographic group for inviting to me speak at the conference. I had a great time and the wine wasn't at all bad.

A Good Enough Reason

This blog is intended to document the process of completing research into the deterioration of bookbinding leather. Interesting to some, boring to many others. But stick with me as I am a natural wit.

This will be the first place any observations on survey and leather test results will be published. If I can ever figure out how to put a questionnaire on this blog then I will add this also. Otherwise expect general observations about this research and news on anything shiny that attracts my attention, distracting me from my work.
